Hannah Tomoko's debut collection -an exploration of my signature technique.

A winding path

An infinite loop

Imagine, at a turning point in your life, putting your hands on a letter you wrote 10 years ago. Now, imagine being blown away by the clarity of your thoughts as you read your own words. And then wondering how your younger self had that vision already?

In 2015, feeling out of love with jewelry after my PhD and preparing to move back to the US, I spent many hours packing boxes.

I will never forget discovering the countless design samples of a 2005 project that led me to develop my signature technique. I was mesmerized by the variety and the energy behind it all.

With the LINEA collection I wanted to reinvigorate my signature filigree-inspired technique by designing shapes based on a continuous line. Each piece consists of a single round wire—with lengths between 40 centimeters for an earring and 340 centimeters for a necklace—that is bent rhythmically, creating geometric floral motifs. Because of the innovative construction method, pieces are lightweight and expandable, resulting in several bracelets being ‘one size fits all’.

With their bold and sculptural appearance, I hope the LINEA collection accentuates a new-found elegance in contemporary jewelry design.
